Religious Stained Glass for the Fort Collins Colorado Temple

Just like many other religious groups, in the LDS community, a Temple is an incredibly sacred and important place. It is a symbol that represents the relationship that people of faith have with their God. And most importantly, it is a place that people can call a safe haven, develop friendships, practice their faith, and learn more about the teachings of their religion.

The members of the LDS church believe that if a temple is to be inhabited by the presence of God, it must remain in absolute perfection and purity. The construction of this building is so important that once it’s completed, a series of inspections are conducted to ensure that the temple is flawless in every aspect.

The project took approximately two years to complete. This time was divided between drafting designs, which took about 6 months, and then another 18 months devoted to manufacturing and installing the glass. Ultimately, we installed over 50,000 pieces of individual glass. This included about 300 complete glass pieces used for doors, windows, sidelights, and transoms. Each one was designed for the utmost level of privacy, energy efficiency, and security while still allowing ample amounts of light to enter the building.

Completely Customized Religious Stained Glass

In order to meet our ultimate goal of perfection, every aspect of this project had to be customized to ensure for optimal quality and design. We created glass windows that were fit in custom frames even without being able to take additional site measurements. Everyone worked together as a team and throughout the duration of the project, we built some great relationships with other general contractors, the construction company, and the members of the LDS Church.

The building process also involved designing never before created colored glass bevels through a new technique developed by our experts at Scottish. We were also able to create a new color of green stained glass through an intensive process in order to match the design model created by the Church. Because of this, we were able to create something that was truly unique to this glass and the Temple.

In the end, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. After it was installed, our stained glass was able to pass a series of thorough inspections without a single flaw or defect being identified. We had truly created a flawless work of art that would last the entire lifetime of the temple.
